Favourite Childhood Book…
I don’t think I had one clear favourite book as a child. I read a lot of books but I’m having a hard time going back 20 years to remember any standouts.
I know I read a lot of Enid Blyton books. I used to have a bed with a headboard shelf on top and I filled it all the way across with books.
If they haven’t been thrown out or donated, I’m sure they are all in my parents attic. The majority of books I had from her were the ones in the pictures. I don’t recall ever reading The Famous Five books though.
As well as Enid Blyton, I also read some Roald Dahl. The one book that stays in my mind is The BFG.
I loved it, but it’s been so long since I’ve read it. I’m going to have to go to the attic and see if any of my old children’s book are there as my 6 year old son likes to read and he already has my Beatrix Potter Collection and I’d love to be able to pass on my books to him. My little girl isn’t even a year old so we’ll have to wait a while before she starts into the books! 🙂
Enid Blyton and Roald Dahl were my childhood book staples. Before that it was Little Golden Books. Love them all!
Nothing beats the older books 🙂
Good ole Enid Blyton! Loved her books. Such a shame they have some unfortunate references and names, because the stories are great!
I know! I was crying laughing at one of her stories this week that I was reading to my son! Very innuendo filled! 🙈🙈
