It’s that time of the week, you know the time where I completely forget to do a wrap up and then have to panic write it up at half 9 at night π Luckily I haven’t had a super busy week on the blog so it’s not so bad!
I managed to read two books this week, Undertow by Elizabeth Heathcote and Black Night Falling by Rod Reynolds. I haven’t got reviews for either yet though, Undertow is a Netgalley read and it’s not out for a couple of weeks yet and I’m on the blog tour for Black Night Falling on August 12th so you’ll have to wait until then I’m afraid! π
I will say this about Rod’s book though, it is AMAZING and it’s out next week so please check it out, you won’t be disappointed!
This week, I was lucky enough to have Holly Seddon, author of Try Not To Breathe (clickΒ hereΒ to read my review) on the blog with a brilliant guest post on where it all started for her and you can catch up with that post by clicking the link below:
I managed to power through Nevernight by Jay Kristoff this week too, and I have to say, I loved it by the end. I didn’t want it to be over. It’s not my usual genre, but it was just perfection. Catch the gushing review below π:
Lastly, I was joined by Robin Roughley for the Triple S post. Rob is the author of the DS Lasser series of novels and you can read his post here:
Saturday Series Spotlight- Robin Roughley
That’s been my week! Next week there’s a blog tour post, a Spotlight on Ava Marsh, my July Book haul post, and I have Conrad Jones on the Triple S post next Saturday! And maybe a review if I can read faster π
How was your week? Did you read anything I need to know about?! Let me know in the comments below ππ€
I finished Clare Mackintosh’s I See You this week. I think you’d really enjoy it Kate!!! Currently reading Snatched From Home from Graham Smith…really enjoying the old school style of Harry Evans!!
Think I need to have a look at Undertow and Black Night Falling!!
It’s there on the TBR lovely! Just don’t know when I’ll get to read it π Undertow was good, psych thriller, Black Night Falling was fantastic! All the stars!
I haven’t managed to read one book this week, and forgot to do my weekly wrap up post ππnot a good week X
You have enough going on lovely xx
I’m currently writing a crime novel, hence I’m reading ‘The Hand That First Held Mine Maggie O’Farrell. I don’t like to read the genre I’m writing at the time.
Makes perfect sense! Yay that you’re writing too!
I really want to read Rod’s next book. I adored his debut!
It’s so good Rebecca! Loved it!
I’m loving Nevernight, too. I have about 70% left. I’m hoping to read the rest tonight and post a review tomorrow. I’m glad you liked it. π
It was so good! Wasn’t expecting it to hook me as I had tried and left it down, and I am so glad I picked it back up!
I loved the beginning, then had trouble with all the footnotes since I’m reading a Kindle copy and had to keep flipping to the end of the chapter. I’m loving what I’ve read so far. If I get moving and read straight through, I might have a review for tomorrow. I’ll see how that goes. π
I had to stop reading the footnotes as it was detracting from the story for me! π I’ll keep an eye out for your review π
I agree. They were so distracting. That’s one of my complaints about the book. I’m posting it tomorrow for sure. π
