Weekly Wrap Up (x2)

Hi everyone,

I didn’t do a wrap up post last week, so this week I have a bumper two week wrap up where you can catch up on everything that’s been going on!

Although I’ve been reading, my mojo is still AWOL. I’ve been reading some great books, and I know they’re great, but I’m just not in the form so they haven’t been hitting the mark! I’ve read 157 books this year though, so I guess I can’t complain!

I took part in an event online for THE Book Club on Facebook and I was on the panel for mystery/thriller books, so I did up a post with my Top 20 all time fave M/T books which you can see here:

My Top 20 ATF Mystery/ Thriller books….

I read and reviewed an FBI K9 book:

Lone Wolf by Sara Driscoll

The usual First Monday Crime Spotlight was on Alex Marwood:

*First Monday Crime* Spotlight on Alex Marwood

My favourite post of the month went up:

November Book Haul

My awesome guest reviewer , Ellen, read and reviewed The Poisoned Rock:

The Poisoned Rock by Robert Daws *Ellen’s Review*

I read and reviewed Jackie Baldwin’s debut to coincide with paperback publication:

Dead Man’s Prayer by Jackie Baldwin

The lovely Susan at The Book Trail had me answering some Christmas themed questions:

The Book Trail Advent Calendar Day 3…

I took part in a Bloodhound Books blog tour:

*Blog Tour* Malcolm Hollingdrake Hell’s Gate

I read, LOVED, and reviewed a forthcoming Orenda Books title:

Six Stories by Matt Wesolowski

And on Friday, I finally posted my top reads of the year, which has turned out to be my most popular post EVER on the blog:

Top 13 Books of 2016…

As for what’s coming up next week, I’m posting another top reads post tomorrow from Dave Hardy, where he lists some stellar books he’s read this year.

I’m also going to post up some reviews, because I’m a bit behind so there should be reviews up for the following books at some stage:

  • The River at Night by Erica Ferencik
  • Duplicity by Sibel Hodge
  • The Girl Before by J. P. Delaney
  • Lies by T. M. Logan

So yeah, that’s been my recent weeks. How has yours been? Read anything I shuld add to my TBR? Do let me know! 🙂

Weekly Wrap Up November 13th

 Hi everyone,

So it’s weekly wrap up time again! Oddly enough I’m still in the depths of this reading slump, yet I’ve managed to read two books and I’m on my 3rd this week. I’m reading out of necessity as opposed to reading for pleasure which means that I’m feeling a bit like I have homework and I don’t want to do it 😱

On the blog this week, I had a mix of blog tours and reviews. Huge thanks to Ellen who sent me her review for A Man With One Of Those Faces too! Here’s a chronological list of what you may have missed on the blog this week:

*Blog Tour* Beneath The Ashes by Jane Isaac

Dark Fragments by Rob Sinclair

*Blog Tour* My Sister’s Bones by Nuala Ellwood

*Blog Tour* The Exiled by Kati Hiekkapelto #FinnishInvasion

A Man With One Of Those Faces by Caimh McDonnell

Coming up next week for definite, I have two blog tours:

Love You To Death by Caroline Mitchell

While You Were Sleeping by Kathryn Croft

As well as these, I have a couple of posts hanging around that I may try and finish and get them posted up. Book related but not book reviews!

Also, I’m (hopefully) taking part in the Two Crime Writers and a Microphone podcast! This is the brainchild of Steve Cavanagh and Luca Veste and having listened to the first one, it’s definitely one to watch out for if you’re into crime books and brilliantly funny book chat. I’ll be recommending a couple of books on there and I’m beyond nervous because I’m more at ease behind a keyboard than a microphone! 😂
So yeah, that’s been my week here! How has your week been? Read anything that I need to know about? 🤔 Do let me know in the comments…

I’ve also started Michael J. Malone’s A Suitable Lie in prep for a blog tour in early October!

Next week I have an Adam Hamdy related post! But it’s not Pendulum, so you’ll have to keep an eye out to see! 😉 I’m also on the blog tour for Andy Blackman’s new book and I should have some reviews as well!

I can’t see there being a wrap up next week, as I’m going to London next Sunday, but you never know, I may be super productive! 😂

Weekly Wrap Up September 11th

Hi everyone,

It’s Weekly Wrap Up time! This week was another busy week for me on here, I had 7 posts this week! First up, I finally got around to reading and reviewing The Truth About Julia. I was slightly underwhelmed to be honest and you can read why here:

The Truth About Julia by Anna Schaffner

Next up, I FINALLY got to post my review for All Fall Down by the lovely Tom Bale. All the stars for this actin-packed read:

All Fall Down by Tom Bale

I reviewed Find Me by J. S. Monroe this week too. I was expecting great things, but this fell a little flat. Click the link below to see why:

I also got around to reading and reviewing a book that’s been on my TBR for quite some time, The Damaged by Simon Law. Another one that just didn’t quite hit the mark for me this week:

The Damaged by Simon Law

I was lucky enough to be joined by Steven Dunne yesterday for my series feature, and he has a great post so click the link to catch up!

Saturday Series Spotlight-Steven Dunne

Lastly this week, I finally cobbled together some thoughts on The Constant Soldier by William Ryan. I still don’t think my review did it the justice it deserves though. It is a truly stunning novel. Catch up below:

The Constant Soldier by William Ryan

So that’s been my blogging week! I’ve been couch-bound here all week as I managed to put my back out. I’ve had herniated discs in the past and this week was just torture as I physically couldn’t do anything for myself. My wonderful husband has had to take the week off to take care of me as well as the kids for which I’m very grateful.

Due to the fact that I was immobile, my kindle became my best friend. As of now, Sunday evening, I’m currently reading my 7th book of the week 😱📚 As you’d expect though, I’m behind on my reviews as I’ve not been able to sit with the laptop. So next week, I should have some more reviews for these going up!

The books I read this week were:

  • The Damaged (reviewed above)
  • Black List by Will Jordan
  • Nothing Short of Dying by Erik Storey
  • Inside The Whispers by AJ Waines (review in October)
  • Soul Rights by Liberty Gilmore
  • A forthcoming novella by a certain Adam Hamdy (more on that later)

Theoretically there will be reviews for 4 of these at some stage next week, I hope! I also have a cover reveal next Wednesday AND I also have some super exciting news coming up be to week which I’m dying to share, but I won’t… YET! 😉

That’s been my week! How was yours?! 😊

Books First Monday Q&A Review Saturday Series Spotlight Weekly Wrap Up

Weekly Wrap Up September 4th

So its September!!!! I don’t know about you, but I have NO IDEA where summer has gone. Our eldest started back to school this week so it’s been a busy time on the home front but I’m glad to be back in a routine if I’m honest!

I was away this week for a book launch so I am a bit behind with reviews BUT I did manage to post 7 times this week thanks to my being overly organised for once!!!

Anyway, less about me and more about the books! 🙂

Monday saw my blog tour for Graham Smith, with my review for Matching the Evidence going live. I had so much hassle with this post, it went up on 2 or 3 different occasions well before it should have! *shakes fist at WordPress* I got there eventually:

Matching The Evidence by Graham Smith Blog Tour

Next up was the blog tour for A Death in the Family by Michael Stanley. I had posted my review for this before but I got to reshare as part of the tour:

A Death in the Family by Michael Stanley Blog Tour

My FAVOURITE post also went up on September 1st, my monthly book haul. High seventies again for August. I swear these books just fall onto my kindle/into my trolley/through the letterbox. Think Harry’s persistent Hogwarts letters…. *ahem*

My name is Kate and I have  book-buying obsession and I’m not even sorry!!!!

August Book Haul

Next up, I was joined by Jane Corry in anticipation of First Monday Crime (taking place tomorrow) where she answered some questions:

First Monday Crime- Spotlight on Jane Corry

On Saturday, I had the Triple S post, and I had the lovely Mary-Jane Riley join me to talk about her Alex Devlin books:

Saturday Series Spotlight: Mary-Jane Riley

Also, my most favourite Icelander has a blog tour, so naturally I’m on it raving about his new book, Blackout. Catch my review of Ragnar Jónasson’s latest here:

Blackout by Ragnar Jónasson Blog Tour

Last, but by no means least, I was joined by Jackie Baldwin today as part of the blog tour for Dead Man’s Prayer:

Q&A With Jackie Baldwin

That’s been my week here at Bibliophile Book Club. Next week is quieter I think. I have Tom Bale’s All Fall Down blog tour, and you’ll remember I said I’m behind on reviews? I should have reviews for:

  • The Constant Soldier by William Ryan
  • The Truth About Julia by Anna Schaffner
  • Find Me by J. S. Monroe

And maybe a couple of more if I can read fast enough! 😉

How has your week been?! Let me know in the comments!

Weekly Wrap Up August 21st

Hi everyone!

It’s that time of the week again! You know, where I rack my brain trying to figure out where the week went and what I did! 😂

This week I’ve not been feeling the best due to ill health and I had to get 20 injections on Tuesday which meant I found it really hard to hold a book let alone concentrate on reading! I still managed to read three books though, but I also started 2 more and haven’t picked them up since! 😱

I managed to blog 5 times this past week though so it ain’t all bad! Here’s all the link to my of those posts in case you missed them!

Q&A with Harry Bingham

Angel (DCI Ryan 4) by L. J. Ross

Ragdoll by Daniel Cole

Saturday Series Feature- Carys Jones

Tomorrow I have a Q&A with Cat Hogan, author of They All Fall Down, as part of her blog tour.

I’m part of the blog tour for Valentina Giambanco’s latest book, Blood and Bone, and my stop is on Tuesday with a great post from her!

And I’ll also have the usual Saturday Series Spotlight post and hopefully a couple of reviews if I can concentrate enough to read! 😉

How has your week been? Have you read anything that I need to know about?! 🙂

Weekly Wrap Up August 14th

Hi everyone,

Another relatively busy week here on the blog, I managed to post 7 times in the week! 😊

In terms of reading, I’ve slowed right down. I managed to read 2 books since last Sunday, which is graaaaaand but it’s not making a dent in the TBR at all! 🙄

Anyway, this week I got to take part in a release day surprise for Rebecca Pugh, which was fun!

Rebecca Pugh Release Day Blitz

I got to post my review of Dark Water, an excellent book that I read recently:

Dark Water by Sara Bailey

I got to go to my first proper book event, with none other than bestselling Irish author, Liz Nugent, in conversation with Rick O’Shea:

Rick O’Shea’s Book Club- Liz Nugent

I also got to take part in the cover reveal for A. J. Waines’ forthcoming nobel, Inside The Whispers:

I had the pleasure of closing the blog tour for Black Night Falling by Rod Reynolds:
